Seri Mengasih

Seri Mengasih Centre is a non-government organisation known as The Registered Trustees of Seri Mengasih Trust; relying mainly on fundraising projects, and public donations for its operation costs.

It operates as a special developmental day training centre providing specialized training for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities from as young as 3 to 19 years old.

In January 1981, it was established as the first special education school in Sabah for this category of students.

Intellectual and developmental disabilities include the following types:

• Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Below average intelligence of IQ 70 and below
• Cerebral Palsy
• Chromosome Abnormalities; for examples – Down syndrome, William syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome and others
